Jakobson Gallery Paris | O Gringo Exhibition | Place des Vosges

Article
Paris has always welcomed artists capable of transforming tradition into something timeless.
Today, O Gringo presents a new chapter of his artistic journey through an exhibition at Jakobson Gallery Paris, where contemporary mixed media techniques meet the centuries-old tradition of Portuguese azulejos.
Inspired by the National Tile Museum in Lisbon and developed through years of research across Portugal, each artwork combines photography, acrylic painting, charcoal, Chinese ink, ceramic fragments, mosaics and gold leaf to create emotional narratives that connect heritage with contemporary expression. This artistic approach is described throughout the exhibition catalogue, including the artist's exploration of traditional Portuguese tile motifs and mixed-media experimentation.
Rather than simply reproducing historical ceramics, O Gringo reinterprets them.
Every work tells a story.
Every face carries memory.
Every fragment of azulejo becomes part of a universal emotion.
Following the success of his exhibition at the National Tile Museum in Lisbon, his artistic evolution now reaches Paris through one of the city's most respected contemporary galleries.
Art.
Heritage.
Emotion.
These three words summarize a project that continues to bridge Portuguese cultural heritage with international contemporary art.
Visitors are invited to discover a collection where history is transformed into a living artistic language.
